We believe in letting our pigs express their “pig-ness.”

Mt. Folly’s Duroc/Hampshire cross pigs living in the woods during the growing season. We pair them with our two Billy Goats, leaving the Nannie Goats at peace for the summer, bring up their kids. Ideally, the pigs root out the invasives like multiflora rose and bush honeysuckle, while the goats eat the leaves and branches of the unwelcome visitors. We tried this two seasons ago, and were pleased with the results. Last summer, the pigs’ job was to plug up the leak in a dry pond, which met with partial success.

Our second pork producer, Hudnall Farms Pork, has an illustrious history with the father, Benji, elected head of the Kentucky Pork Producers, his wife a popular farm advocate, and his daughter coming into the business. They are a family-scale operation, 5 generations on the land, with an environmentally-sensitive production model and family-scale.
