Meeting Our Farmers: Real Stories from the Field
Meet the Pioneers: Cultivating the Future of Kentucky Regenerative Agriculture
At Mt. Folly, we believe that the best way to change our food system is to support the people who work the land. Regenerative agriculture isn't just a buzzword—it's a commitment to soil health, carbon sequestration, and local resilience. Today, we’re proud to introduce you to some of the incredible partners in our network who are leading the way in sustainable farming across the Bluegrass State.
Meeting Our Farmers: Real Stories from the Field
Our mission is fueled by a community of dedicated farmers who are transitioning from traditional methods to holistic stewardship. We recently sat down with two of our partner families to discuss their journey and the impact of regenerative practices.
Tony & EJ: Honoring the Legacy of the Land
Tony and EJ manage a farm that has been in Tony's family for over 200 years. Their transition to rotational grazing and chemical-free management is a testament to their love for Montgomery County. By focusing on water infiltration and natural forage diversity, they are rebuilding the soil for the next generation.
Laura & Bobby: Integrating Trees and Forage
In Paris, Kentucky, Laura and Bobby of Oakland Farm Trees are proving that trees and cattle belong together. Their work with silvopasture and native warm-season grasses—like Big Bluestem and Indian Grass—is creating deep root systems that hold water and sequester carbon, all while providing much-needed shade for the herd.
Stewardship Practices That Pay Back: Our Farmer Incentive Menu
Mt. Folly isn't just a beef company; we are a partner in your farm's success. We’ve designed a comprehensive Incentives Menu to help Kentucky farmers implement practices that improve their land while adding to their bottom line.
Whether you are a cattle producer or a crop farmer, these incentives are designed to support your transition to regenerative practices.
