Celebrating 100 Years of Ale-8-One: Meet the Winchester High Ball

A Century of Flavor, Rooted in Winchester

On August 1st, downtown Winchester comes alive to celebrate a major milestone: 100 years of Ale-8-One. Since 1926, "A Late One" has been a staple of Kentucky culture, putting our hometown on the map and serving as a badge of pride for generations of Central Kentuckians.

To honor a century of tradition, three iconic local institutions are coming together to create something truly special. Ale-8-One, Regeneration Distilling Co., and Mt. Folly have partnered to craft the Winchester High Ball—the official cocktail of Ale-8-One Day.

The Taste of Winchester in a Single Glass

This collaboration isn't just about mixing a great drink; it's a celebration of Winchester’s deep agricultural history and local craftsmanship:

  • Ale-8-One: The crisp, ginger-citrus soda that has defined Winchester for 100 years.
  • Regeneration Distilling Co. & Mt. Folly: Featuring Boone's Settlement Wheated Rye Whiskey, distilled right here in Winchester from rye grown on historic Mt. Folly land once owned by Daniel Boone and aged inside a traditional Kentucky tobacco barn.

When you bring these regional elements together, you get a cocktail that is smooth, bright, and steeped in local heritage.
